Two Jordanian Business Prodigies, Omar Abu Ghoush and Mohamad Al Shami, Become the Youngest Arab Founders to Build a Million-Dollar EdTech Company

While most university students are preparing for their first internships, two young Jordanians are preparing to launch a million-dollar technology company designed to reshape global higher education.

Omar Abu Ghoush, 18, and Mohamad Al Shami, 20, have become the youngest Arab founders in history, and the youngest founders from the wider MENA region, to build a company valued at USD 1 million. Their EdTech company, Eternity, reached the milestone following the completion of a pre-seed funding round backed by a confidential private investor. The investment amount and commercial terms remain undisclosed.

Eternity will officially launch on August 1, 2026. At the time of launch, Abu Ghoush is a first-year business student at the Swiss School of Business and Management in Geneva, while Al Shami is a third-year business student at the University of Florida. Despite studying on separate continents, the two founders have built a globally ambitious company before either has completed university.

Their backgrounds reveal two unusually early business careers. Abu Ghoush has been a serial entrepreneur since the age of 15 and became the youngest documented Jordanian and Arab to address the United Nations. Al Shami had facilitated more than USD 25 million in property transactions by the age of 19, establishing a record of commercial execution, negotiation and high-value sales before co-founding Eternity at 20.

Together, they have brought technology, strategy and commercial experience into a single mission: changing how students access international education.

Eternity is designed to replace the fragmented process students currently face when searching for universities, scholarships, application support and relocation guidance. Instead of moving between disconnected websites, agencies, ranking systems and admissions portals, students will be able to navigate the entire journey through one intelligent ecosystem.

The platform combines university discovery, scholarship matching, applications, AI-powered guidance and relocation support. At its centre is Sage, Eternity’s AI companion, which considers each student’s academic background, financial circumstances, destination preferences and long-term ambitions to deliver personalized and practical guidance.

By combining services currently divided among platforms such as ApplyBoard, QS World University Rankings, Times

Higher Education, Edvoy, Common App and UCAS, Eternity is not positioning itself as another addition to the EdTech industry. It is building the infrastructure capable of becoming the new standard for global education decisions. The company’s strategy is to establish that standard before aggressively prioritizing monetization.

Eternity is investing first in product depth, global university and scholarship coverage, artificial intelligence and student trust, following the path of category-defining technology companies that became essential before fully unlocking their commercial potential.

The new funding will accelerate product development, strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, expand Eternity’s international database and support global growth following its launch.

Abu Ghoush and Al Shami represent a generation of Arab founders no longer waiting for graduation, permission or decades of experience before building internationally significant companies. At 18 and 20, they have already reached a milestone few entrepreneurs achieve at any age.

Their story is not simply about two students building a startup. It is about two Jordanian business prodigies placing Jordan and the Arab world at the centre of the next generation of global technology.
